LoRaWAN – short for Long Range Wide Area Network – forms the technological backbone of a new generation of smart applications. With support from ime, Conneqtive is deploying a high-availability infrastructure at its Chempark sites in Leverkusen, Dormagen, and Krefeld-Uerdingen. What makes this network special is its ability to enable energy-efficient communication over several kilometers – even in hard-to-reach locations.
The deployed gateways from Kerlink were supplied by ime and integrated into Actility’s LoRaWAN backend. This ensures not only secure data transmission but also provides the foundation for scalable IoT applications. For Conneqtive customers, this means reliable data collection and visualization – for example, for monitoring wells, steam temperatures, or water meters.

Future-Proof Solutions for Critical Infrastructure
A key feature of the Conneqtive network is its uptime guarantee. Customers not only gain access to the infrastructure but also benefit from a reliable service contract with clearly defined performance commitments. This marks the first time Conneqtive is offering a full-coverage LoRaWAN as an integrated service for all Chempark customers – regardless of size or use case.
The potential applications are diverse: from remote maintenance of technical equipment and environmental monitoring to condition monitoring of mobile assets, the network enables new paths for process automation and efficiency gains.
Rollout Underway – with More to Come
Operational launch is planned for the second half of 2025. Initial pilot applications are already running at the three Chempark sites. Additional areas and use cases will be added step by step.
In parallel, Conneqtive and ime are planning to expand the offering – for example, with specialized ATEX-approved sensors or mobile solutions for temporary installations. The goal is to continuously adapt the LoRaWAN portfolio to meet Industry 4.0 demands.
