The combination of the MinePoynt long-distance thru-tunnel beam antennas with this directional antenna leverages Poynting's fifteen years of experience in designing and manufacturing antennas for underground data networks. The tunnel antenna is the ideal antenna for wireless 2.4 - 2.5 GHz applications in tunnels.
In tests, this antenna achieved both a higher data rate and a greater range than linearly polarized panel antennas with the same gain. The robust construction of this antenna makes it ideal for use in mining.
HELI-3 is a unidirectional antenna, while the closely related HELI-8 is a bidirectional antenna. An intrinsically safe version of this antenna is available under the code HELI-3-IS. With the HELI-3 you get a cost-effective network infrastructure for the current voice and data needs in mines and tunnels.
