The SNYPER-IoT-450 Graphyte (GL) is a handheld survey tool for 450 MHz cellular networks as well as LTE-M, NB-IoT and GSM. Installers, system integrators and network operators use it on site to identify available networks, measure signal strength and quality, and find the antenna position that delivers reliable remote connectivity. Typical fields of use are utilities, smart metering, industrial IoT and critical infrastructure.

Frequency bands and networks

On 4G LTE the unit covers bands B3 (1800 MHz) and B20 (800 MHz) plus the two 450 MHz bands B31 and B72. It also supports 18 LTE-M bands, 17 NB-IoT bands and 4 GSM/EGPRS bands. According to the manufacturer, the lower frequency of LTE450 provides better signal penetration and extended coverage, which makes the unit particularly suited to rural, underground and hard-to-reach installations.

Single and long-term surveys

Surveys can be configured as a single cycle or as a series of cycles. Left in a fixed location, the unit runs sequential surveys and saves them automatically. This reveals intermittent coverage, unreliable base stations and fluctuating network performance that a single survey may miss. Network operator, signal strength and unique cell parameters are recorded in every cycle.

Analysis and reporting

The summary screen shows the relative signal levels and available operators of all discovered cells, so the most suitable network for the application can be chosen right away. Results are downloaded to a PC via USB-C as CSV files for spreadsheet analysis and as graphical HTML reports, ordered by signal strength and including survey date and time. Surveys can also be stored and viewed in Siretta's CloudSURVEY portal (registration required).

Operation and design

The 2.4" colour display (TFT, 480 x 640 pixels, LED backlight, 700 cd/m²) and logical menu structure make field work straightforward. The user interface is available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. The rugged housing features an integrated belt clip, and the battery typically lasts for a 12-hour continuous survey according to the manufacturer, charging via USB-C. Two SMA female connectors take the cellular antennas, a push-push reader takes the SIM card (3 V, 1.8 V).

Beyond network discovery, the SNYPER-IoT-450 Graphyte assists with antenna alignment, infrastructure deployment planning and local site surveys for utility and industrial IoT installations.
